Tips for Reading and Understanding the Bible 1.  Remember that we are saved by grace, through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 2.  When studying a particular verse or set of verses, read several verses prior to and after or maybe      even the whole chapter to be sure that  the entire focus of the scriptures being studied  have been      included. 3.  Determine who the author is or who is speaking. 4.  Determine the time frame of the scriptures.  When were the scriptures written and what are the      circumstances during that time? 5.  Determine the audience.
